Not every photo I take is displayed. I have lots of photos that don't make the cut and I get to decide what is acceptable and what is not. A photo to me must tell a an unique story and show the viewer a special place and moment in time. Those moments can be reviewed but never relived. That is what makes a photo special. What is a good photo to me might be average or unimportant to others. However, it just might inspire, uplift and encourage someone just at the right time and place. One never knows. I am lucky to have been given this talent to see the world. Many people have commented on my work and said, man you have "the eye." But really, it is just how I see it. I know it when it is there....and when it is not.
I can look back at my earlier photos and see where I could have improved, but also can look at the older stuff with fresh eyes and see exactly why I took it. Sometimes a photo that didn't make the grade now does. Being able to look back in history has real advantages, another perk of photos.
My passion is and always will be Wildlife and Landscape photography. I will continue to do portraits and formal photography shoots because there is a certain amount of satisfaction in preserving memories for others, but nature photography will remain at the top for me.
